This study evaluated the indications, outcomes, and decision-making considerations for Mohs surgery in patients older than 85 years with nonmelanoma skin cancer. Take-Home Messages

  • Advanced age alone should not preclude Mohs surgery; treatment decisions should incorporate tumor characteristics, patient comorbidities, and life expectancy.
  • Mohs surgery in elderly patients can achieve excellent cure rates with minimal morbidity when cases are appropriately selected.
