This study evaluated a deep shave removal technique with curettage for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma. The approach demonstrated acceptable cure rates for select low-risk BCCs while offering a simpler and faster alternative to standard excision or Mohs surgery.

Deep shave removal with curettage can be an effective treatment for carefully selected low-risk BCCs.

This technique should be reserved for appropriate clinical scenarios and is not a substitute for Mohs surgery in high-risk BCC.
