This study identified predictors of low health literacy among Mohs surgery patients and assessed the impact on understanding of their diagnosis and treatment. The findings highlighted the need for tailored educational materials and communication strategies for patients with limited health literacy.

Low health literacy is common among Mohs patients and is associated with poorer understanding of skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Written educational materials for Mohs patients should be designed at an appropriate reading level and supplemented with visual aids.
