This study demonstrated that radiologic imaging aids in the management of high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma by detecting clinically occult nodal and distant metastases. Imaging-guided management led to changes in treatment plans for a significant proportion of patients with high-risk tumors.

Take-Home Messages

  • Radiologic imaging in high-risk cSCC can detect occult metastases and lead to meaningful changes in management.
  • Appropriate imaging should be integrated into the workup of cSCC with high-risk features to optimize treatment planning.
