Dermatologic Surgery (2021)
JC: February 2026
This study assessed bleeding complications following nerve block local anesthesia and local infiltration in patients receiving anticoagulation therapy during dermatologic surgery. The findings provided data on the safety of regional anesthesia techniques in anticoagulated patients and guided risk management strategies.
Take-Home Messages
- •Nerve blocks and local infiltration in anticoagulated dermatologic surgery patients carry a manageable risk of bleeding complications.
- •Careful technique and awareness of vascular anatomy can minimize bleeding risk when performing nerve blocks in anticoagulated patients.
