This study evaluated the risks of bacteremia, infective endocarditis, and prosthetic joint infection following dermatologic surgery. The analysis found extremely low rates of these complications, informing evidence-based guidelines on antibiotic prophylaxis for patients with cardiac or orthopedic implants.
